When people question god, it is because they, somewhere in their lives, felt neglected, unloved and abandoned. god is supposed to be the God of love and mercy, and yet the world, filled by all his sons and daughters, is hell.

If God can create life out of nowhere, why can't he provide some answers with the same spontaneity?

The question "Why God?" came naturally to me, because it was a question I was supposed to ask. I was due to ask that question for 18 wholesome years. If 18 years wait isn't worth it, I would rather discard God even if he did create me.

Please, give me a break. I have been more happy and free than ever before ever since I threw my God in the trash.

I think part of the problem is we externalize god. i.e God is out there, over there..

Something to which we either can be far or close to

Where as the only facts that are seen is that Humanity exists and so does Life. If anything the term God needs to be relooked at as I think its a very primitive word that was came about through people in the past lack of understanding.

Do you also believe that God is the energy that is within us? After all, all matter have energy and it can neither be created nor destroyed.

We can be very close to God. Michio Kaku once said that plenty of other dimensions could be present in this world, or could be close to earth or our dimension. What if God dwells on one of those hidden dimensions here on earth?

Very astute observation Jon. I agree with this line of thinking up to a point. After all, as you may recall, I am very much a panentheist. A Christian Panentheist.

So when did you become an atheist and how?
Well.....I've never been atheist.....wasn't born into a religion....and didn't have my mind polluted much with notions of God when I was a child. When I was older I did question some of what is taught about God.....but I never didn't believe in God, just didn't believe what some teach.

Well its possible... but that theory depends on this " Is this GOD " a seperate entity, and is God " NOT EVERYTHING? " most religions say God is everything.

So even the dimensions are GOD if God is everything.

if God is not everything. Then should we be calling GOD..... GOD? and instead just referring to it as some Absent Alien

Been one since I was 11. My family is not particularly religious anyway and it was an interest in astronomy that finally made me throw away the comfort blanket of a god. As I got older I demand to see evidence for a god, any god, but no theist could ever provide any, just empty words and hiding their god out of time and space. I have also read a lot of mythology and over time you can trace how gods came into existance and how they reflect the thoughts of those tribes and civilisatins that created them. Humans reated god, not the other way around.
