Paul, you have to stop reading Fundamentalist tracts... Please do your due diligence and question everything by reading multiple sources, especially the documents and legal records of that time - remember, the inquisition was a legal/religious affair.

As today and back then it was pretty much the same. Anyone who doesnt match or fit in with a certain ideology and way of doing things is still classed today " Not a christian "

Fact of the matter is " The only one who can say who a christian is, is God himself, and quite frankly I dont think he gives a crap about who is who isnt, only man does "
