This is how it's been for me, too. I had become *so* ... what's a good word? Maybe "obsessed" with working and making sure there's enough money for the *lean* months that I ended up burning myself out *totally* with the writing. I write all kinds of things from journalistic commentary to food and travel, parenting, inspiration, and a few other things.
BUT those things ARE my passions... if I'd try something else just to pay bills, I'd be in a rut real fast, I'm afraid.
