Default Will you read Anne Rice's new book?

Will anyone read Anne Rice's new book about the baby Jesus. I almost bought it the other day, but I'm not sure if it's a good to read. Something tells me more use would come from reading the Bible.

Well after Anne Rice found God a few years ago, she pledged to only write about God. This is coming from a best selling author that spent her career writing about vampires, and zombies. So I thought it was such a transition for her, it would be interesting to see how credible it is. I hear it's a fiction story on Jesus, but based upon facts. Whatever that means...

I've just read a bit about it. Yes, you'd do very well to read your Bible, and not take fiction that people write as Gospel. But even though Anne Rice is writing from a Catholic perspective, I really like the fact that she has made Jesus Christ Himself the subject of her writing. Whether she pulls it off or not I don't know..

God is good to have reached her, after all that she has done. I hope that others who are fans of her work will come to Christ through the shock of seeing her redeemed.

I had not heard that she had changed her style of writing. I am a reader but have never read anything of hers because I had heard she wrote mainly about vampires. I might check this book out.

She wrote one well written and elegant book (very sinful though) Interview with the Vampire. Everything else became quite overblown and overripe, though there was always genuine talent in there. She never quite wrote a stylistically perfect book again though.

I wish Interview with the Vampire wasn't such a piece of perfect prose though... I am sure many folks have swallowed it down like a ripe peace of fruit, and not realised how much it "disagrees" with them.

She's a very gifted writer, and I look foreward to reading her book.
FYI--she also wrote quite a few soft core pornographic novels under a pen name until her return to faith.
