No, but I've heard of it. Have you read it?

Im reading it.. its very insightful at the time i bought it, I bought the opposing one called

Misquoting truth, to be fair and see how they sized up.. against each other

one thing to mention is Bart Ehrman studied at 3 of the most prominent theological seminaries in the USA Whealty, Moody and Princeton each one differ in their teaching on many aspects and each one advised him not to go to the next one..

He has a nice broad overview of new testament and textual critism, and from what i have read so far, it only validates what my assumptions regarding scripture, and at the same time has provided me with a lot more clearer look at the mistakes and contradictions that exist in the bible today in its various translations.

He covers a lot about, translating, how things were written down, illiteracy which was huge back then, text was written like this

inthebeginningwasthewordandthewordwasgod

vs how we think today

Distributation

Some people might not think it matters to know where, and how the bible came into being but I think if your going to bank your life on something and spew assumed absolutes to people you had better know this beyond

2 years in bible school and based on what your pastor says and your concordance says

Does one have to know the Bible inside and out in order to bank their life on God? Banking your life on the Bible itself seems a bit idolatrous to me. I do think it is a most important document, but one has to realize that a picture of a pipe is not a pipe The Bible is not God.

Blessings

Well someday I may be inclined to agree with you, yet today we have many who believe that the only way to know God, about God, and Learn about God is found within the pages of the bible

There is so much that is misunderstood about it, who it applies to, why it applies and when it applies or applied.

Unfortunetly for many there whole idea, experience and relationship is formed and confirmed only through the experiences of others in the past, if it doesnt match up its not God is one of the many ideas that have been formed, taught and even forced upon people.

I have read some of his stuff and believe me Jon, many are asking questions all over. Seems the bubble is about to burst for many. I also see the head in the sand do not confuse me with the facts, sad but true

There is a mush deeper understanding. Look also at the Gnostic texts, they are an eye opener, seems they had the truth but were shut down

Blessings
