Default Song of Solomon

I was in a charity (thrift) shop a couple of days ago, picking up some cheap kitchen equipment for my son who moved out yesterday (sob!)
Amongst the plates and bowls was an exegis of the Song of Songs by Watchman Nee. I bought it and have got a few chapters in.
I have only ever heard two interpretations of SS: one that it is the love between Christ and His Church, and the other that it is about the wonder of physical love. I tend towards the latter, as it is so erotic in places. Watchman Nee describes it a third way. He says that, though every saved person loves Jesus for what he has done, some press on deeper and love Him for who He is. SS describes the yearning of such an individual and how the LORD takes them deeper into His presence. He explains many, many words and references as being symbolic of this and that.
I'm not sure. There is certainly something for me in this book, as I reconsider how passionate I am for the presence of Jesus, but I have this niggle that some of the exegis is a little far fetched in its interpretation.
Any comments?

I will read Song of Solomon again tonight so I can give you my thoughts on it in my present walk with Him. Like you, I have a passionate desire to live in His presence...

I've always been of the believe that it's about physical love. However, the symbolism you describe makes a little sense. I'll have to read it again and see what I think.
