Saving Sarah Cain garners two award nominations
Saving Sarah Cain, the heartwarming story of a self-absorbed big city newspaper columnist who discovers that she is the legal guardian of her five Amish nieces and nephews after the death of her sister, has been nominated for best picture of the year, in television, by Movieguide.
The film was nominated for the $50,000 Epiphany Prize in the television category; and Abigail Mason (who plays the eldest niece, Lyddie) has been nominated for the Grace Award in television by Movieguide, a non-profit organization that reviews films for the family and advocates for films with faith and values. Winners will be announced at the Awards Gala to be held in Beverly Hills on February 12th.
"We're honored that Movieguide has recognized our efforts with Saving Sarah Cain," noted director/producer Michael Landon Jr. "This was an important film to me and my partner and we're pleased that others are taking notice of it."
Produced by Michael Landon, Jr. and Brian Bird, and based on the best-selling novel by New York Times bestselling author Beverly Lewis, Saving Sarah Cain was released to DVD on January 15th.
