Do you honestly think Azusa Street birthed Pentecostalism??? The Church of God (Cleveland) Started in 1886. Charles Parham (Seymour's teacher) saw tongues manifest at the stroke of midnight 1901 in Topeka KS. I have showed you coutless other examples of tongues throughout church history. If you choose to deny it fine, but it is obvious you need to do some more research before you start blasting something you know so little about.

So, I'll await those texts or even 'a' text that gives just ONE example of the spontaneity of 'gifts' from the Holy Spirit. |

1. Cor. 12: 1 - 11: a list of gifts of the Spirit, finishing off with "distributing to each one individually as He wills". so: all it takes is for the Spirit to will it, and one moment a gift isnīt there, and the next it is. |

And building on Christa's post, the word used for manifestation in 1 Cor 12:7 is φανερωσις (phanerōsis) which suggests a temporary bestowment, not a resident type gift or office...

The definition is 'bestowment', HP. The word 'temporary' is missing from Strong's Lexicon.

Surely you're not telling me that the Pentecostals have their own lexicons that are especially slanted to accommodate their questionable practices, are you? ![]() |

Trek I really did think your education was a bit higher to understand what he was saying, but you brought your sarcasm along with Rad lad out again. I wonder why? |
