The Day of Pentecost-languages?

Hey Mr Moderator!

How did you become moderator on a Christian site like this-if you can write off such a fundamental event as the birth of the Church on the day of Pentecost? eh?

I wouldn't think though that "tongues" and "interpretation of tongues" was of a human language. If you look at the context of the passage in Corinthians that you quoted from, then you'll find that all the other gifts are supernatural ones-and so learning such languages e.t.c. would be misplaced in the midst of them.

NOW miracles and tongues would not naturally go together. I'm not sure why anybody would put them together. Paul said (badly quoted!) that he wished that ALL would speak in tongues.........and ofcourse in the Pentecostal Churches it seems that almost all do speak in tongues, but tongues has various purposes, but I've never heard of it being classed as a miracle.

As for writing it off. you didnt read correctly, I said

Until you can allow yourself to consider that,... your idea of it happening is nothing more than just an airing of an opinion to keep alive the religious belief you have formed

Originally when this website started it was started a time when my actions, views and thoughts would be considered by others as " Christian "

I think pigeon holing something " Christian " or " Not Christian " is a bit overrated and only leads to people placing conditions on each others thoughts, actions and views

I would say its part of the reason todays religions are in the state they are.. there is more focus on Exclusion than inclusion.

The love that is mentioned is one of conditions more often than not.

The misunderstanding of God has led to fear based, conditional, parental role God portrayed by Christianity

ANYWAY,I take note of what you say though, JM and I'm glad you're honest about it all. HOWEVER it is sad you have broadened yourself seemingly to take such a stance that is surely nowhere really but wandering without actually entering over a threshold of what you feel could be Truth.

Is it a debate though you want, or are you looking to state what you think is truth for all.

There is one thing stating what is truth for you and another of what is truth for all.. when its all you had better be ready to substantiate it

Remember aswell not everyone is going to answer you on your terms, the world is full of different people with different questions.. if you dont like the question " Well it may not have happened at all " maybe you should ask why as if its not me, any of the atheists here might ask you a similar question.. what will you do then.. throw a tiff because you was hoping to get someone give you a Biblical answer, that is inline with what you are willing to accept?

First, you immediately have cast judgment upon anything that differs from what you think is Truth and class it with a negative conatation, how can you be open to learn if you think you already have it all defined

Taking a stance, how can you be sure I have not taken a stance? Is it because Im not asking you to get in line with my truth that you think I havent taken a stance?

Why the need to take a stance, is the a law written some where which says a person must be Black or White... keep chugging on those red bulls dude

We dont need to pursue God, God, the divine, source, the Universe has and is always been here all along, never separated from us.. though todays christian mythologies and unsubstantiated doctrines will try to tell you different as they are based in fear and control and a perspective of God that is less than who their bible claims God to be.

You have your truth and others have theirs, that about the extent of where it ends

If you had researched beyond, My bible says this and thats how I know its truth, you would show some signs of intelligence by responding to questions which challenge your faith with something more credible than
