Genesis is a retelling of the birth of Israel. The pure formed Earth emerges from the chaos, much as the Israelites saw themselves through the constant separation from all those around them. I can't be bothered going into great depths on this subject right now.

However, by your definition, Grace, it says very, very little. It is so non-specific, and broad ranging that it could encompass almost anything. And because it includes everything, it can basically be equated to nothing.

Why only Israel, CA?
IIRC, Adam=mankind in ancient Hebrew.

Is the Torah, or Old Testament, not a Jewish scripture, written about themselves? Why would they talk about the rise of any other nation?
