Seperate Forums

Ok i want to address a question that has been brought up quite a few times usually it went either

1. Jon could you setup a forum which is " ....... Only "

or

2. Jon why did you change the one area called " Christian Only "

Ok i will answer both, they really have the same answer

When I originally setup this forum I looked at other forums out there and then decided ok for the point of organizing things i will create mini forums within the main forum what i mean by that is

The Lounge is one Main Forum with sub forums below it like

24/7 drop in cafe
events
miscellaneous

OK now most people think if you setup a section which is called

" Christian Only " like i did originally

That means people who go in there will only talk about christian stuff and they wont get into debates

Incorrect for 20 points!

The only way you can make that doable is by having a lot of heavy moderation involved which means

1. You need a lot of moderators around the clock helping out
2. You need a lot of time if you dont have a lot of moderators ( like now )
3. You need moderators to make firm choices which many people might not agree with.. which in turn causes even more arguments

So.. when i realized that All people from all faiths were showing up and chatting in the Christian Only and I didnt have enough time or enough moderators to moderate it, plus some of the issues that people wanted moderated were just over the top and petty.. I decided to change it to all faiths.. which in turn meant I had people who initially seemed pretty nice peoples accusing me of everything under the sun to the point of being extremely nasty ( yeah you dont see those pms and emails i get ).. all for what? changing a few letters.. goodness sakes..

Heck i might just change the META TITLE to read.. forum instead of christian forum as there are alot of people that get very hung up about wording and they have their own views on what they class christian and what is not christian.. so once again your into discussions about what is or what is not.. blah blah blah.. more time that I have to commit too,

So.. I hope this explains it.

Unless I have enough moderators, unless i have more time than sense and unless all the moderators were from the similar backgrounds all its going to amount to is arguments on what is allowed, what is not allowed blah blah blah...

Also i dont like the idea of segregation, there is enough clickyness occuring within church gatherings and other religions.. why create more...
