Thank you. I most certainly am serious about it. That's not to say I will be deserting all my Christian brethren, because I like this site. It's certainly less abusive than a couple I ventured into. However, the more angles one gets from a religious point of view, the more (hopefully) enlightened one becomes. When I joined the site four years ago, it was alive. Since then people seem to have dried up - I can't remember the last time I read a post by Daughter, for instance.

I'll sign up, and let you know what I think of the site. Your B. i. C. Fred

As the old saying goes

"Birds of a feather FLOCK TOGETHER"

Most of the originals were die hard fundamentalists... most couldn't or didnt want to think outside of the box of what they had been taught.

And so when I and others started to question them when they posted threads concerning what they believed.....

There were many who didnt like that..

And the Person behind the Mask poked its head out and several got quite nasty and left abruptly..

This of course then impacts others who may have liked that person and they get the wrong end of the stick and of course a few left that way too..

Some moved on to forums they think are more Christian well at least on the surface appear similar to their own christianity talk.

There are plenty of places out there where you can find people who will agree with you.. and where you can get a nice holy huddle going on ... it really depends how you want to spend your time.

Its all good..

I enjoy the atmosphere here.. I really like a lot of the non believing God folk here.. they make me laugh at times

Its good to stretch what you believe.. to question your reasons for why you believe things that you do..

Again its not for everyone and as NCANGEL said there is many forums out there where you can go and HEAR what you want to HEAR

My thoughts are though.. Not much growth comes from that..

Yes, I remember----this place used to be like the multitude of other forums where those who dare to challenge the theology of those with the power to ban & delete usually are banned and their replies deleted.

I somehow managed to avoid getting banned back then. I think the initial influx of the FSMites, and a couple dogmatic Roman Catholics, may have taken the focus off the universalists.

So, I'm still here.....

I like the more inclusive feel of the place, too.....and that's one reason that I come here.

You remember. I try to forget! It got really nasty at one point and I occasionally would still like a crack at the good Reverend on even ground, without having to worry about being censored...but, alas, he is no longer here.

I managed to evade a ban myself, although I'm not sure how as I locked horns more than once with quite a few people. I think you avoided being banned, Grace, because nobody realised you were a universalist except us. I lurk on another forum and have seen your name mentioned and I reckon they still don't know you're a CU! lol.

I like it here, and that's why I stay here. It's more relaxing than it used to be and not having to worry about being banned for everything that comes out of my mouth is definitely nice!

There aren't too many Christian forums where the good news is accepted.
It's frustrating when someone bans you, then posts a reply as if they got in the last word.
