I like to test my own skill level with other players on the net. Lets get real they are only games. No matter what you do in life it will always upset someone. I've got the solution lets all sit on our own somewhere in the lake district and do nothing.

Guy's I'm sick to death of all this. Since I've become a Christian, I've come to realize that the biggest hypogrites and the worst for being judgemental are Christians. Wise up the lot of ya and catch a grip. I've seen people who are suffering from addiction made to feel worthless and destroyed by other Christians.

Shot me down if you want, but I answer to Jesus and Jesus alone not man. If I'm going to burn in hell for playing games, then question is, is God so caring and loving. I know he is and he knows whats in our hearts, so Zondi crack on dude and be yourself and enjoy this wonderful life that God has given us. As long as we are not going out and destroying lives or doing evil then what's the problem.

We are told to be like Jesus and playing stupid war games is not doing that! You KNOW it is wrong. Your conscience tells you that. You are a rebel and do not want to listen to anyone else's views.

Hello, Jeff -

Did you think you were replying to Zonbi when you wrote this? Johnny is a totally different person or at least I think he is.

You may view video games as stupid but they aren't stupid to the fighter pilots, surgeons and cinematographers who grew up with them and fine-tuned their motor skills by using those games.

As far as being a rebel is concerned, Jesus was viewed as a rebel by the folks in charge during His stay here on earth. I think Jesus was right and the Pharisees were wrong.

I've read several of Johnny's posts. They tell me he's a seeker who loves the Lord and is genuinely interested in other people's thoughts. I really don't think he isn't open to a different view.

If video-games are stupid or evil or just plain non-Christian, why is there a section on the forum devoted to them? I guess I'm just confused.

Thanks for reading. I didn't want Johnny to read your post, take offense and leave. I think he has things to offer us as a group and I would like him to stay.

Peace -
V

Dear Ryua, He is a she! (Got YOU there!) By the way PLEASE read my post AGAIN! I did not say video games were stupid, but WAR games where you just go killing everyone. The number of times I have read in the newspapers of people being had up for murder who had previously palyed many of these games. We are called to be holy and if you believe playing war games is holiness then please carry on because I do not, andvwould never allow my children to play them. We are not of this world, but are embassadors of Heaven. Ask yourself if you are a good embassador playing War games. The section here is game zone - big difference. So dear Ryua take your he he he back!

I retract my hehehe, but only on the grounds that I feel silly for calling a she a he.

"The number of times I have read in the newspapers of people being had up for murder who had previously palyed many of these games."

Yes, let us not blame other environmental conditioning, and useless parents, let us jump on the media bandwagon and scream "Twas not our fault, surely we parents should not be to blame for our childs idiocy, let us blame something else lest people should doubt us"

THIS I agree with. Now first let me clear something up...I dont condone cames like Grand Theft Auto but I dont see a problem with say Age of the Empires, difference being the glorification og gangland culture.

HOWEVER, as Ryua states above we musnt use this as a failsafe for blame. Yes there are increasing cases of people emulating crimes from computer games/films but these are often children - why on earth are there parents leeting them play these game sin the first place?? I would say the sort of parents that *** these games for their children arent really installing hte correct moral (let alone christian!!) values to begin with.

Ryua - no problem. With a V, who would know.

Thanks to both you and Fiona for saying what I believe is a major problem today - Personal Responsibility. Or, in this case Parental Responsibility which basically comes down to the same thing.

I state again my case. We are called to be like Jesus and be Holy. So does playing war games make you holy?

No - it sure doesn't. But it doesn't make you unholy either.

Sorry, Jeff but you and I will never see eye to eye on this, so we might as well drop it here. In the overall scheme of things, a game is a game. Some people carry it too far.

My point when I started this was to say I thought perhaps you had posted to the wrong person. Looks like I was wrong, you really did mean to post to Johnny.

thanks!

You honestly believe playing those nasty war games don't make you unholy? Okay!
