Isn't this a bit of a holier than thou arguement from Jeff's side?

if we interpret from the bible that "We are called to be like Jesus and be Holy"
and again interpret that this means that all things which don't lead us to be more like christ are sinful or unholy then all lesiure time is surely unholy.

Jogging and working out distracts my mind from God, and I focus only on making my body better soooo does that come under the same umbrella prehaps?

Thank you Ryua, believe it or not that is a compliment. I want to be holy and I want to stay holy (I am working on it), and if you do not that is your choice. But God wants us to be holy.

Depends what you do in our leisure time. If they are wordly then you are out of the will of God. God wants you 100% of the time!

Jogging for me brings me even closer to the Lord. Whilst running I can talk with him as there is nothing to distract me. (Mind you I cannot jog at the moment because of my back problem)

When you love the Lord with all your heart with all your mind with all your soul, that means ALL - just like Jesus said! So playing a vicious video is not Godly and you know it!

No, what you say is true to a certain extent. However, it puts the player in a mindset that he carries with him beyond the game. Just like porn creates a greater tendency toward sexual deviance and abuse, and "little" drugs creates a tendency towards stronger drugs, simulated killing creates a greater tendency towards violence.

couldn't it be argued instead that this simulated killing instead channels a persons frustration and violence to a virtual target instead of going columbine on his comrades.

+thats poorly worded i know+

Not a bad argument, but recent history doesn't support it. In America, the past 40 years or so has seen us move from Christian influence to secular influence. As the years progress, and we get further "liberated" from "obsolete ideologies", we are seeing an EXPONENTIAL INCREASE in every type of debauchery. Sexual deviance, sexual abuse, theft, murder, self-abuse, and violence of every type. If anything, history supports one very simple axiom---"Garbage in, garbage out". While simulated killing "could" provide a safe outlet for such emotions, it also provides a place for such emotions to fester. Any online gamer can tell you about these boneheads.

I heard of a benevolent creator telling him to do it though.

Yes, you should reread the Bible, though I would start in the New Testament and read it all the way through. There's not one verse that you'd want to miss May I suggest a personal favorite of mine? The Book of James. An awesome read, and not too long.
Why re-type that?

Can you tell us why then?
