Default violent videogames vs bible

I noticed that alot of the time in this section people condemn some of the greatest games simply because of the violence level.
I also noticed that the bible is very violent ( eg michael getting a chunk of his foot torn out, abraham killing his own son, burning lambs alive).
So what do you think?

Once more my dear friend Zombie, let me tell you that we Christians are called to be holy, and playing violent games certainly is not on our lists as that would take us right away from the Lord. Do you read the Bible by the way?

The difference is that the Bible describes real events, while video games make it into entertainment.

but videogames can also describe real lif events in a simulation, like the Call of Duty series or Age of Empires.

As Christians we are called to lift God up in everything we do. Playing such games does not lift God up.

Just checked. Nothing in the Bible about Michael injuring his foot. Also, Abraham never killed either of his sons. He was commanded to sacrifice Isaac to God in order to test his faith, but God stopped him before he could complete the sacrifice.

Genesis 22:12-13 -- And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me. And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.

Yes, you should reread the Bible, though I would start in the New Testament and read it all the way through. There's not one verse that you'd want to miss May I suggest a personal favorite of mine? The Book of James. An awesome read, and not too long.
