Wales is where Taffy comes from.

OK, as you were.

PS

Two things Taff--Please don't take this as my saying that I refuse to chat with you about stuff--I'll gladly do so--just not about this sort of thing. You seem like a good sort.

Secondly, if I discern that I was wrong in the above post, I'll appologise up a storm!
(That's Indiana talk meaning "a lot")
Morning Brian..As I was re reading the thread , id did notice this..i see you edited and added..I didnt see this the first time matey..

hey Bud ,Thesedays I dont frequent Forums such as this at IPOG( althou its far more forgiving than many ive been on) just have few friends here , but we dont back slap gang up nor bully, we just share our thoughts asI was hoping to do with you and Molly

But by experience many fundamentalists do take great pleasure in trying to trip us up ,be it by thinking we dont have the answer..or by using intellect to out smart one...

So thanks for this addition I too hope we can discuss in the future...

you may wish not to discuss..but here a tab of how I see the heavens...

I have to go to the doctors shortly so il finish this later...

Have you Read...ALL THINGS will be made NEW as part of the NEW Covenant.

Whats the former which shall not be REMEBERED AND doesnt Come to MIND?...how interesting ..this Brian is the doing away of the Old Heaven and earth..the Old covenant of the flesh..bear with me bro..to much just for one post

Isa 65:17 For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.

the old Covenant was a shadow of the reality which was to follow..the ministration of DEATH...
again lets not forget,,these are metaphors...ill let the scriptures explain for you just what these are...Revelation is a BOOK of to day....thats why people dont understand it...

Rev 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Isa 66:22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.

Are we Not a The children of Promise looking for the NEW...Does Not righteousness NOW dwell within thRou HIM in us..HIS Righteousness not our OWN?

2Pe 3:13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

You see Brian why many dont know where the NEW heavens are and what the NEW earth relates too...

The flesh has the tendancy to LOOK outward NOT INWARD BY APPLICATION where as we told His words are SPIRIT...not flesh...

There much much more to this Brian

later

Blessings
Taffy

Hi Molly
Your last post stirred me.
This does not have to be heavy intelectual debates about where heaven is or is not. The fact is, there is a place called heaven (or not) prepared for us who believe that simple message you have written above.
Hold on to nothing else, for christ is the corner stone of your faith. and that is all you need.
so it doesnt matter what life tells you ( or anyone else for that matter ) as long as you believe as you do you will be ok . sorry make that ok
and like you that makes me happy to.

Doesn't matter what your dad does God won't let him into Heaven if he's not saved - that's waht my Bible tells me. You need to keep praying for your dad to become saved then you'll be sure.

Question

BrotherBrian,

I appreciate your posts and I have to say I was quite dissappointed with the ones in this thread. You effectively ignored the spirit of this thread in favor of an argument. In fact, the first thing you wrote was to cause controversy than give advice. Did you know you can uplift someone without causing a fight? It is quite difficult if you are used to it, and believe me I have been in your shoes. All I can see is that you effectively derailed this encouragement for Touched by an Angel to pray and trust in the Lord for her father's salvation and turned it into a Fear Factor / Theological Debate which has no bearing or encouragement to myself or the one this thread was intended.

I believe this is the best time to write the Words of our Savior, Jesus Christ concerning this matter:

Luke 10:25-28
A religion scholar stood up with a question to test Jesus. "Teacher, what do I need to do to get eternal life?"

He answered, "What's written in God's Law? How do you interpret it?"

He said, "That you love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and muscle and intelligence—and that you love your neighbor as well as you do yourself."

"Good answer!" said Jesus. "Do it and you'll live."

If her father hates Christianity because of Christians, God does not ignore this. He judges the heart of all mankind, and He will judge a man on his words and his deeds. Don't understand this? Keep reading to find out Jesus rebukes the religious for their hypocracy and praises a non-believer for his generosity and then says it is the non-believer who inherits eternal life.

I am not saying anyone is saved without Jesus, but what I am saying is Jesus detestes those who put up obsticles concerning what is true religion.

Here is what James says is "True Religion":

James 1:26-17
If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless. Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

So pay attention to what you are doing brother!

I believe the Lord is doing a good work in you BrotherBrian, and my hope is that you accept the gifts he has given you in order to be a fully mature and fully functioning part of the Body of Christ. Yesturday, I see a man of controversy and strife; Today, I hope to see a man of inspiration and consideration.

Thanks for standing up for what you think is true, though taper it with truth.

In Grace and Truth,
GA

Molly Not that youll take a word of notice..but this may benefit others reading..so no worries

Im truly no ogre...

Salvation is His work in US ,one is saved like this.

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:

Eph 2:9 Not of works ( OF law), lest any man should boast.

Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works ( of faith), which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

We dont go to Heaven, Heaven come to us ..scripture speaks of the heavens as OUR minds and the EARTH( CLAY= ADAM = MAN) which is our heart..The NEW man in us ..HIM

He comes to our heavens( mind) from His Heavens and then we are ONE WITH him dwelling within...

Mat 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as [it is] in heaven.

Christ Writes in the earth of man in these scriptures...meaning the only way they could hear him is if HE CAME and Put Himself In their hearts...so they JUDGED no more BY THE LAW....

Jhn 8:6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with [his] finger wrote on the ground, [as though he heard them not].

Jhn 8:7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

Jhn 8:8 And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.

Jhn 8:9 And they which heard [it], being convicted by [their own] conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, [even] unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.

Jhn 8:10 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?

so For mine...One is saved By HIS doing , His faith , His Grace, ...by HIM coming to OUR heaVens...

Little do people realise HES hidden In ALL mem ..yes everyone ..but remains Hidden until the veil is torn In our hearts and only then do we hear and Know him....

i asked Brian what IS the power of God...i dont listen to pastors thesedays..my kids understand more than many..

so heres the scriptures..you can believe these or your pastor..

1Cr 1:24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

1Cr 2:5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God

But hes hidden in the hearts of all MEN ..yes...TBaA dad as well....nope you wont here this at sunday school or church...

Psa 51:6 Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden [part] thou shalt make me to know wisdom.Christ)

and paul affirms it..remeber just WHO the WISDOM of GOD is..

1Cr 2:7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, [even] the hidden [wisdom], which God ordained before the world unto our glory
:

1Cr 4:5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.

heres some more...
1Pe 3:4 But [let it be] the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, [even the ornament] of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

what an overcomer ..

1Jo 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, [even] our faith.

1Jo 5:5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

Rev 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life,( THATS CHRIST AS WELL) which is in the midst of the paradise of God.
Christ is the Hidden Manna( Bread of LIFE) The White Stone...
oh a new name...Even More NEW TO ADD TO THE PREVIOUS

Rev 2:17 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth [it].

again Molly this may not benefit you so nowwies ..its posted for those who have the ears to hear the Deeper RICHES OF GOD...

and Those No one gives BUT one..

have a great day

Blessings
Taffy From Whales.

for mine This is Good news to ALL men.....

Hello Molly,

Your pastor is correct that good works do not get you to heaven. However, if your pastor says anyone is going to hell, then he has passed from brother to father and sits upon the judgment seat reserved only for God Himself. Or do you neglect the writings of the Apostles?

James 4:11-17
Brothers, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against his brother or judges him speaks against the law and judges it. When you judge the law, you are not keeping it, but sitting in judgment on it. There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you—who are you to judge your neighbor?

Now listen, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money." Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, "If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that." As it is, you boast and brag. All such boasting is evil. Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn't do it, sins.

So although good works do not save you, should you know the good you are to do but do not do it, you are in sin.

Read my reply to BrotherBrian, and consider that it was the Samaritan, not the Levite or the religious man, who inheritted eternal life, based on being a good neighbor.

Has it yet come to you that nowhere in Scripture have we the authority or right to determine who is saved or not saved, who is destroyed and not destroyed? The only thing we are commanded share the wonderful gospel of Salvation to all the world, in both word and deed, with the hope of their salvation regardless of who recieves it.

I will not tell you to stop listening to your pastor, but tell you to be a good workman of the Word, taking upon yourself the responsibility and accountability to test all things to ensure it comes from the Spirit of God. Study and show yourself approved by God and seek the Truth so you do not justify all things as, "My pastor told me...."; but rather "the Spirit in presense of two or more credible witnesses has confirmed in me...". Do this and you have past from the milk and to the meat becoming a teacher yourself.

In Grace and Truth,
GA
