Default Will God let him in?

Hi everyone.
My Dad is a non-christian, and has his doubts about our religion.
He use to help out alot at my church, taking part in acivities, help at our youthgroups and even bring clothes to give to Africa. He use to bring in bags and bags of cloths from his friends at work, who use to get rid of the clothes that was not sold at charity shops, so my Dad took tham and gave them to the church to send to Zambia. there was a time when i knew he was close to opening his heart fo the Lord, but one day a member of my church who is no longer there, accused my Dad of stealing. My dad was really upset and never set foot in the church again. He thinks Christians are evil, but lately he has joined onto one the Christian forums (serving our savior), and seems to be having different thoughts about Christians which is good, and i do hope he becomes a Christian, but if not will God turn him away?

The scriptures are plain to me, though Christians of the "everyone goes to Heaven no matter what" disagree about salvic issues, Miss.

Read your bible for yourself and consult with your pastor.

One thing is certain, Miss--no acts of kindness can "earn" anyone a place at the Father's table in Heaven.
The bible says we are saved by God's grace through individual faith, and that faith is a gift of God.
If your father has no faith, scripture tells me that your dad isn't YET under God's saving grace.
Keep living a Christian life in his presence, witness to him as honest opportunities arise, and more than anything else; pray, pray, pray for your dad's eyes to be opened past the blindness of resentment.

Lesson here for sure...

Your Dad maybe learning deeper about forgivness, its truly is a Godly Trait ..it begins in the HEART ..we cant move on without it.

and NO , without DOUBT HE will not turn your father away......

Mat 6:14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

Mat 6:15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses

Blessings

Hello TBAA,

You are a wonderful and sweet spirit. If we base the evidence on what you presented, we conclude it is not your father, the Lord will judge but the one who caused him to stumble. Your father does not think Christians are evil because he arbitrarily concluded this, it was some Christians who made false witness against your father that changed his mind.

Jesus said it is better to put a millstone around your neck and throw yourself in a river, then to cause any of His little ones to stumble. I believe those little ones include your father. So will God turn him away? The answer is no, He is a Good Shepherd, and has left the ninety-nine to find the one lost. He bought the whole field to find the pearl. Your father is the lost sheep He is searching for, and your father is the pearl that is hidden in the field.

So when God measures the heart, I trust love will prevail. Be comforted and support him in encouraging word and prayer. Remove judgment from your eyes and mouth, and let God work through your kindness which brings godly sorrow that leads to repentance.

In Grace and Truth,
GA

Jesus taught us how we can know what God will do. He said:

Luk 11:10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
Luk 11:11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?
Luk 11:12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
Luk 11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

So, just ask yourself if you would let your child in or would you cast them away? Would your Heavenly Father do less than a good earthly father for his child? Rest in our Father's love for your dad.

Kratos

Your old man sounds like a decent sort of guy. Sounds like he got that way without religion.

Maybe you think that you need your religion as a moral compass.

Maybe you could talk to your dad about it.

Scripture says, "God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love and sound mind." It also says, "There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love."

We don't save ourselves Molly, that is what a Savior is for. Jesus already died and rose again 2000 years ago. Touched by an Angel can be sure already.
