i made all my own wedding stationery for over 100 guests.

You don't need to be artistic at all. Every card is unique and special.

I am currently making and selling my cards to raise money for my church's Malawi appeal.

basic materials required are card stock, a personal trimmer (small guillotine), scissors, dry glue, then you need embellishments, rubber stamps, inks pads, heat gun, embossing powders, light box, stencils, threads. It just depends what it is you want to do. The list is endless.

if you just wanted to do for example decoupage, you need card stock, sheet of decoupage, 3d foam, scissors and dry glue.

Thank you for listing these materials. It sounds like so much fun and I just
happen to be going shopping this morning. I know that store in particular
has a huge selection of the rubber stamps, and some of those other materials
and I'll poke around while I'm there.

It's not too nosy at all. The store had tons of scrapbooking things but
not as much for card making as I thought. I now have card stock and the
cutter thingie, the glue, and a few embellishments, but I really need to go to
the regular craft store for the other things that I want, I believe.

I used to love cross stitching and embroidery. I've been considering taking it up again, as a prayerful pass time, now that I don't watch telly anymore. If I can find something with a Biblical theme, I think I would really enjoy it. Also my husband has actually asked for a picture of the cross for our bedroom, and I was thinking of finding a design that could occupy my hands while I sit next to him and pray for him silently as I make the cross. What do you think?

Never heard of scrapbooking before this thread by the way.

there are lots of biblical cross stitches, rubber stamps etc available.

Scrapbooking is a lovely way to keep photos, as putting them in a box isnt very nice and putting them in a photo album destroys them because of the acid in photoalbums. scrapbooking is putting a photo(s) on decorative paper and adding stitching, embellishments etc etc and some wording. very nice!

That is so great that you have stopped watching television. I basically stay to the news and weather stations and the food network. Even on those I'm seeing more and more garbage, though.
