I'm a learner really.. My garden does seem to be good for tomatoes though, the first year I grew some of the variety "moneymaker" and soon learned why they were so named, there were hundreds of them! My wife made the majority into tomato pasta sauce (for freezing) & very delicious it was too!

The thing I found with Gardening is to pay it plenty of attention, keep an eye on things & take action on anything that looks odd, the internet is a great resource for info on pests/diseases etc & what to do... I'm sure your husband will be a great success provided he puts the hours in!

Boris the Boobook, I like that, lets hope he's not actually a girl!

I agree, the internet is a plethora of resources with special forums dedicated to growing x plant. We love tomatoes too but like you said, you have to pay special attention and keep an eye on things. In the past, I was unsuccessful for a lack of attention to the tomato plant itself. Perhaps, I'll try again this year and give it the attention it needs.

Speaking of Boobook, there was a movie out years ago called 'The Clash of The Titans', based on a Greek mythology and I recall an owl named Boobook from there, I think?

Yum! Tomatoes are definitely one of the things I'd like to grow in a garden. I've made lots of soups and sauces with excess tomatoes I used to grow, too... haven't done that for a while now, though, but spring *is* coming!

I know, i'm starting to get excited.... This year I will grow three varieties of tomato I think, I want to find the one that ripens fastest, that way hopefully I won't be left with loads of green ones at the end of the season!

I'm also going to grow chilli peppers as well I think, they always look very nice as well as being useful for the kitchen!

Yum! Which varieties would you suggest for someone who doesn't really
have too much of a green thumb? That's one of my biggest problems,
deciding which kinds of plants to buy for things like that.
