Default Need Help Naming My 3 kittens

My cat Zoe recently had 8 kittens. I am keeping 3 of them - they are 10 weeks old now, but they need names. I am including some descriptions for anyone who wants to help me...

dark grey w/ white under belly & on each paw - she is a female. She is on the shy side, and very attached to her mom. She loves to play with her two other sisters and tends to be the more agressive one in starting the play fights. She took a while to warm up to me, but occassionally she will sit on my lap.

calico, longhair with light gray, white, and some rusty brown - she is really cute. She was the first of the kittens at 2-3 weeks old to start playing with me. She is very girly when she play fights with her sisters. She is not a lap kitty, but likes to lay by my feet and kiss & bite my feet. Initially I've been calling this one fluffy because she has so much hair, but I am sure I can come up with something better than that.

stripped, black and grey - this kitty is lap kitty of the bunch. She is less attached to her mom. Very playful. She is agressive in playing with her sisters, but also likes to be petted and sit on my lap when she gets sleepy. This kitty is shorthaired.

Thanks for your help!

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego (from Daniel 2, 3).

You can call them

Shad, Mesh and Abe for short ;-)

Default Hope and Faith

Thank you all for your help with kitty names.

I have great news to share today! I have successfully named my girls.

Since my last post, I have actually given the grey and white one up for adoption, but I am confident that she went to a really good home. She was scared at first, but then she warmed up to her family. I have their phone number and we will check in on how she is doing in the next week. It is so hard to let her go... I've gotten so connected to my girls in just 10-11 weeks.

My two remaining girls have names now. My sister and I spent some time yesterday figuring out some perfect names.

Hope - this is my fluffly light gray, rust, and white calico. I think this name describes her personality - full of childlike love for life. Her big eyes and friendly demeaner... hope is the perfect name.

Faith - this is now the name of my grey and black stipped tiger-like kitty. Again, I think this name perfectly describes her confident attitude and her assertiveness in playing. She is a loving kitty too, and when she's sleepy she'll certainly lay on my lap, purr, and loves to be petted - especially on her belly.

Thank you again everyone. Let me know your thoughts on the names.

Hi Priscilla,

Yep - those are big names... but they are the right names. Today Hope and Faith kept me grounded and on track in this crazy world.

When I get depressed or anxious these days, all I have to do is just connect with my kittens. You see, they aren't challenged by the outside world. They only know my little apartment. They can have fun just simply chasing a string, playing with a twistee tie, sleeping, or being petted. The simple life of a cat... it just makes me smile and when I call them by name it grounds me.

I chose those names (with a TON of help from my sister - one of my hereos) because the names that we choose for our children shape their lives and the lives of everyone around them.

Hmm... I wonder what my name means? I think I am going to look it up.

Yes, do and then let us - or at least me - know. It always fascinates me to know the meaning of names.
