Default From an agnostic

Many moons ago I was a Christian.
Born again and baptised in a Pentecostal Church at the age of 19.

I seem to have back slided a fair bit over the years.

I don't discount Christianity but I do question it.

This is my intro so I'll be candid - I'm a true blue agnostic with a history of evangelical Christianity.

I have no hatred towards any faith (with the possible exceptions of Islam, Latter Day Saints and Scientologists)

Well - that's me. And my name is David btw.

Well join the club David, there are those here and many elsewhere that question it.

Some might think people just want to be assholes and outright deny God but investigating further into peoples questions, it usually isn't that it's just people have encountered to many things that don't add, don't feel right or they have seen too much that contradicts itself.

I think people are Good at heart, and are open to Spirituality/God just maybe not the way its being served up today.

Anyway good to have you drop in

Welcome to itpog. Going from born again to agnostic is quite a step you've taken. May you be touched by His noodly appendages for that.

Any chance I could persuade you to add Reconstructionism to that list of exceptions?

greets,
Peter

Calley,
As someone who has backsliden from time to time myself, I can certainly understand how you could be questioning. When we allow sin to continually dwell in our lives in an habitual manner, we are in some way "inviting darkness". I John 1:9 says, "1:9 But if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous, forgiving us our sins and cleansing us from all unrighteousness."

Our Father is gracious and willing to forgive; He loves you more than you can ever comprehend.

D.

To be honest friendly hardline atheist the chance of me worshipping a carbohydrate god is pretty slim

I have enough problems as it is without getting fat LOL.

I will say this though...

I really am interested in theological debate. My NIV is close to hand and I will research your posts.
Not because I want to belittle people as Prof Dorkins (sic) does - but because I'm genuinely interested.

Call me a searcher if you like. Or, as Fox Mulder said - the truth is out there!
Wish I could find it!

Fair enough. Although if you're really committed to Pastafarianism, the thought of stripper angels in Pastafarian Heaven will occupy your mind a lot and take up a good deal of your excess energy.

greets,
Peter

God Loves you even if you dont ask for forgiveness, or have you created an image of God that NEEDS and is Conditional

Hi there Calley
and welcome it is nice to see that you haven’t shut the door completely to God but it seems to me only to some of the man made religions.
I hope you visit here often, and also I hopefully look forward to future conversations

Peace and Light
