I'm planning a large story that has a subplot like this: Enemy troops have seized a large island and its >8,000 residents. One of the characters feels that God is directing the people to surrender and be taken captive by the enemy in order to live. Otherwise, the citizens will die from sickness, starvation, capture, or all of the above. This character mentions that this incident is reminiscent of a Bible passage that shows a similar story.
My question is, what Bible passage is it? I think it's somewhere in Jeremiah, but I have no idea. I think it involves a Babylonian siege of Jerusalem. If you guys have any ideas or answers, that would be great. Thanks! >> John |

*Laughs* Actually, been there, done that. I'm at dead ends here. I hope to get advice from people who know the Bible way better than I do--which isn't very hard.
I do read my Bible every day and then some. *Laughs again* It's a little bit concerning, though, since I can't remember most of the day's material worth a darn! Last edited by John Jude Farragut : 01-26-2008 at 11:34 PM. |
