So I thought I would do a review of one of my favourite bands “ Switchfoot “ not that they need much of a heads up they have and still are enjoying a great deal of success from the amount of exposure they have had through interviews on tv, radio and newspapers.
Their music has a hard edge to it, with suttle soft undertones when it comes to the slower more laid back songs, im sure this stems from their love for surfing.. yah dude!. I first heard of Switchfoot through the band Delirious who had signed them to their record label called “ furious?” I was totally blown away by their music, talent and use of lyrics. They really know how to write a good song.. but at the same time get a message across that makes you think.
Cool thing these guys are all Christians..
So who are the band Members? Well 2 of them are brothers, Tim and Jon.. then you have Chad, Jerome and Drew. Ill cover a little more about what each one does.. but here is some background and history on the band and how they formed.
Switchfoot was originally a three-piece rock band of Christian surfers hailing from San Diego, California. The name “switchfoot” happens to be a surfing term describing a 180-degree turn jump on the board, which gives the surfer a new perspective. The band is made up of members Jon Foreman (vocals, guitar), Tim Foreman (bass), Chad Butler (drums) and newest member, Jerome Fontamillas (guitar, keyboards). Switchfoot started out playing in coffee shops, colleges, churches, and clubs until producer Charlie Peacock heard their demo and signed them to a label. Not long after, the band began recording their first album, Legend of Chin. Since then, they have released three more albums: New Way to Be Human, Learning to Breathe, and The Beautiful Letdown. Because of their unique style, amazing sound, and meaningful lyrics dedicated to their Creator, Switchfoot has become a favorite of many.

Switchfoot News and Publicity
MTV News “ Here’s some good news for any of the almost 57,000 Switchfoot fans who picked up a copy of the band’s newest disc, Nothing Is Sound, at a Christian retail outlet and then, after buying the LP, wondered, “Gee, why can’t I import these tracks to my iPod?” Turns out you threw money down on a defective album. According to a spokesperson for EMI CMG, which distributes Switchfoot’s albums to Christian retail only, a manufacturing defect in the CDs’ content-protection technology prevented fans from burning copies of the album or transferring the tracks to portable MP3 devices. Hence, the company’s pulled all of the copies that were out there, and is recalling all of those copies that have been sold. Those who bought one of the defective copies (they’ve got the Sparro Records logo on them) and would like a fresh copy of the disc can return to the point of purchase for a new one” HEy we can all make mistakes cant we????? Trust mtv to find something like this…but i guess its news.
