Louie Gigilio and Chris Tomlin Interviewed

Hosted by Passion founder Louie Giglio, a weekly online podcast will feature conversations with Passion 07 artist-worshipers and leaders. These podcasts will act as a source for all the latest Passion 07 news and information leading up to the gathering.  The first podcast was with Louie Giglio on November 15, followed by an interview with John Piper a week later, and featured this week is artist-worshiper, Chris Tomlin.

Giglio, Tomlin and Piper will be leaders at the next Passion Conference, Passion 07, a four-day indoor gathering in Atlanta for college students from around the nation and world January 1 – 4, 2007.  More than 20,000 students are expected from all across the USA and internationally, with 24 countries already represented, including Afghanistan, Japan, Poland, South Korea, Malaysia, South Africa, Romania, Australia, Slovakia, Brazil, Ukraine and Ireland. Registration information, schedule and conference details can be found at www.268generation.com.

“When we are on stage there are lights and video screens, and all that is used as a way of communicating,” says Tomlin in the podcast interview, “but if there is going to be a light shining on us, may we just reflect that light for the glory of God.”

“How can God be so passionate about Himself and about His glory so that he does everything to exalt Himself… and yet not be arrogant and a person nobody wants to be around?” says Piper in his interview with Giglio.  “…Nothing will satisfy the soul of a human being except knowing God for who He really is. So if God were not to highlight Himself and make Himself known and glorious then He would be withholding from us the very thing that we need to have in order to be deeply and eternally sattisfied.”

Centered on Passion’s core scripture, Isaiah 26:8, the unique purpose of Passion is to gather college students from campuses and churches across the nation, uniting them across ministry and denominational lines to seek the face of God together in worship and prayer.  Affirming and valuing the work of local churches and campus ministries, Passion seeks to foster unity and connectivity among them, encouraging them to draw strength and encouragement from each other, resulting in a louder anthem of God’s renown
