Lovelite a new band to mention from California. Dang!! they have a quality sound that should be heard. I will see if I can get a quick interview from these guys.
Im funny about hearing new music, I love to be exposed to new stuff, and I am always listening thinking ok is this song going to be one that I dont like.. But honestly I listened to every song at their myspace and was blown away…
Maybe because im from the UK and it really has a UK sound to it
…The leader singer has a similar voice to the guy from Embrace.. and fortunately enough I have one of their albums.. so this is a great match!
I could rattle off who they sound like, but i dont think it would do them justice, you need to hear them, especially their song King of Love.. I really liked that one..
Their current album has 5 songs on it, you can pick it up for $5 ( Like Dang thats a Deal or what! ) and have a cd shipped to you or You can buy the songs individually and download them.
I Just ordered my copy today!
Exclusive information…
1. The band has it’s humble beginnings. My wife and I have been writing
songs for Jesus since we were dating in High School. We decided to put our
songs to the test and arranged some of the tunes with some friends from
Azusa Pacific University. We enjoyed playing them and decided to pursue
sharing this music with the world and the church.
2. Lovelite exists to inspire praise in the hearts of God’s people and
hopefully inspire desire in the hearts of God’s lost. We want to write
songs that the church wants to sing as an honest offering. But worship goes
so far beyond Sunday services. We need to turn our passion for God within
the church and move outside to share the hope we’ve found. We are excited
to explore that idea as God reveals His will for our Band.
3.4. We recorded our CD in Sunland, CA (right outside of Los Angeles) in a
small converted garage with the very talented Kevin Penner at Green Bean
Recording ( www.greenbeanrecording.com ).
5. Check out the EPK I’ve included for more info but here’s a couple things
The third song on EP is called Always and it refers to how our God has
already won yesterday, today, and forever. The exciting thing is that he
invites us to join with Him in the victory. But first we need to learn to
love.
The fifth song on the album is called Finally Free (Blind Eyes). It centers
around the idea that we often consider our relationship with God to consist
of not sinning. It is so much more. God has released us from the
punishment for sin so that we can turn our affection towards are God. After
that He calls us to the point that same love He shared with us towards the
dying world.
6. We have recently been playing at lot in the Southern California area.
We are trying as hard as we can to get out there and share our music and
spread the hope of our King. So as things come along we usually go for the
opportunity.
7. My wife Jen and I are always working on songs. Once we have a skeleton
we bring them to our good friends JT, Matt, and Troy. We have several new
tunes that we are all very excited about the musical direction.
8. There are many oranges. The ratio of oranges to people is quite
daunting. Its about 1000:1. I love oranges but I personally don’t have a
tree of my own…yet
9. We’ve been listening to Texas based folk rock band Midlake. It’s very
beautiful.
