ephotozine said I can understand the need to fit a large resolution chip into a camera as that is what consumers want at the moment, but I fail to understand is why the camera will only then have a small zoom or few features to entice. Unfortunately that is how the Optio S10 has panned out and therefore fails to deliver in key areas.”
steves-digicams wrote “As the new leader in the Optio “S” line, the S10 has an upgraded image processor, and a noticeable improvement in performance from previous models. Combined with the continued overall good image quality, makes this a very good choice in the “ultra-compact” market. The only down side is it can be a little slow focusing so it is not recommended for shooting fast moving actions or subjects.”
Trusted Reviews wrote – ’The latest in a successful series of ultra-compact cameras, the Pentax Optio S10 combines excellent build quality, simplicity of design and good all-round performance with a user-friendly ease of use. It compares well with other quality compacts from rival manufacturers, and its very good low-light performance makes it especially useful for social snapshot photography. If you’re looking for a camera to record the office Christmas party it should definitely be on your shortlist.’
