Matt Redman Lyrics and Tab for the song Breathing the Breath from the cd and dvd Face Down. This is a song I would like to see done more in churches it really is a great song, lots of dynamics to it. The way it builds up.
Just let the Piano play the verses.. the chords from what I can figure out for the verses.. being as I dont have a piano.. just a guitar are….
Now you can play the chorus that way.. but I would wait intill the 3nd time around then come in on the bridge/chorus part .. matt plays around the D/F# and G.. but at one point he goes up the fret and plays the D/F# like this 7x007x just slide up… if you want me to do a video showing this.. just leave a comment and I will show you..

Just a note that the last “bridge” part changes to 7/8. Might be helpful if you couldn’t get what you were playing to match the album! And I’m hearing a few extra chords on that last part too:
G D/F#
We are breathing the breath
G
That You gave us to breathe
Bm Bm/C#
We are breathing the breath
Bm/D G
That You gave us to breathe
The chord progression in the verse is mostly right only the bass line actually walks down. It’s just like “As The Deer” if you ever played that. Like this: D A/C# Bm A G D/F# Em(not G) A.
Also, I just wanted to mention that description of the bridge is not quite complete. They break after the chorus and actually come back in with a different time signature. It believe it’s in 7/4. How crazy! It gets confusing because of the piano part coming in and out of meter. Secondly, I should mention that the 3rd chord(on “gave us to..”) in the bridge is a Bm… there is a B in the bass line. The chord described as 7x007x(tab) is spelled out B D G F# which is a Bm6.
I would suggest that most worship teams should probably figure out how not to play this in 7/4. You’ll probably want to listen to the recorded bridge as little as possible so as not to get it stuck in your head.
Thanks! Blessings!
